Sanger Blossom Day Festival
March 9, 2010 at 7:23 pm | Posted in 1 | 1 CommentWow, it was an early start, leaving Berkeley at 3am. Dj and Derri arrived just in time, they set up the tent with the help of Sanger locals. Before they could even take a breath to get the creperie organized a line formed and did not stop untill all the crêpe batter was gone.
It was like bringing a street corner of Paris to this festival and once again the fine people of Sanger were enamored by Dj and his crêpe making skills.

What a wonderful festival. Ripon is a small little town on your way to Modesto. Almond trees blossoming greeted us as we arrived. The people were sweet and were willing to try something new at their festival this year. They loved us and we loved them.

Dreaming of Crepes

La crêpe a moi – the crêpe of mine
On the streets of Paris, the 11th or 6th arrondissement, rue oberkampf or Montmartre, near Pigalle you can find a crêpe stand ‘creperie’. Approaching the creperie the crêpe batter is being poured on to the crêpe griddle the smell of sweetness, warmth and flour hit the air. The vapors rising from the cooking crêpe, just as quickly as the crêpe was formed on the crêpe griddle it’s being flipped to cook on the other side. The crêpe is being filled with cheese, and ham. Before the crêpe is folded up and handed off, some fresh tomatoes are thrown in.
Now its my turn, my stomache juices are pumping from the delicious smells of melting cheese and butter. Looking above is the menu ‘la carte’ all these choices. The next person in line orders “La crêpe à moi, je veux du fromage et des tomates.” The crêpe is cooked and prepared right in front of you. My crêpe is handed to me ooh la la
